Patient Resources:

All patients accepted onto a transplant hospital's waiting list are registered with the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) Organ Center, where a centralized computer network links all organ procurement organizations and transplant centers in the United States.  The UNOS site will provide statistics, news articles and a description of the MELD (Model for End-stage Liver Disease) system and a MELD calculator to determine your place on the waiting list. www.unos.org 
United Transplant Organ Association provides educational, emotional and financial support to pre- and post-transplant patients. www.uota.org
