The Ventura County/West Valley Chapter of TRIO was formed in 1996. The group grew quickly, and today includes not only transplant recipients, but patients waiting on transplant lists, their caregivers, living donors, friends and family members.
Our meetings feature an exchange of support on many concerns including medication, nutrition and financial issues. Speakers have included physicians from UCLA, Cedars Sinai, St Vincent's, USC and Loma Linda transplant staffs and other local medical and business professionals. We partner with organizations such as OneLegacy, Southern California Renal Council, Donte Life Hollywood and area transplant centers to bring organ donor awareness to the public. Business support has been forthcoming from Astellas Pharmeceuticals, Roche Pharmeceuticals, Pharmacare Pharmacies, Amgen and Baxter Health Care Company.
Our Goal, outside of member support, is to educate the public on organ donor awareness. We can provide trained speakers for your business or club event, or set up information tables. So please, "Give and let live".
